3 Days Desert Tour - Marrakech to Fes via Erg Chebbi
DAY 01 : Marrakech - Tichka pass - Ait BenHaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades
We will meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech and start our desert tour driving to Dades via the high Atlas mountains, crossing the Majestic Tizi n Tichka Pass, in the middle of the High Atlas, which stands in 2260m above sea level. Get to the famous Ksar Ait BenHaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. You will visit Ksar, then have a lunch in a local restaurant. Afterward we continue to Dades crossing the city of Ouarzazate “Hollywood of Africa”, very well known for being the spot of the international movie makers and in which famous movies were filmed such as “ Gladiator” “ The Mummy”. Then we will continue via Skoura palm grove, and Kalaa Magouna “The Rose Capital” where we will stop for to visit a woman co-operative for rose distillation. After visit we head to Dades. Overnight at your hotel, including the breakfast.
DAY 02 : Dades to Merzouga via Todra Gorge
After breakfast in your hotel we will start travelling to Merzouga via Todra Gorge, a very wonderful canyon with its 300m high standing rocks. We continue via Erfoud and Rissani. Lunch on the road. Passing through the town of Erfoud and just before you reach Rissani there are the ruins of Sijilmassa, the capital of the first virtually independent Islamic principality in the south. Its foundation is lost in myth, but by the end of the 8th century it was a staging post for trans-Saharan trade. Upon your arrival to Merzouga on the foot of Erg Chebbi you will leave your luggage in the hotel and take with you only the necessary ones before you will take a camel trek to the camp across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will watch the sunset on your way or at your arrival to the bivouac. Overnight at your nomadic camp where you will have dinner.
DAY 03 : Merzouga to Fes via Ifrane
Early in the morning, we wake up you for to watch the most beautiful sunrises in your life. This is a great opportunity to shoot some nice pictures. Then you ride camel back to the hotel, where you will have breakfast and shower. Afterward we will start our driving to Fes, the cultural capital of Morocco. Along the way, at the town of Azrou, we come to look barbarian atlas apes in the huge cedar forest. Then passing via the cleanest city of Ifran, called the Switzerland of Morocco, due its architecture and cleanness. To Fes we arrive in the afternoon. Overnight at your hotel/riad, including breakfast. And our desert tour of Berber Nomadic epedition ends.
