4 Days Nomadic Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes via Erg Chebbi
DAY 01 : Marrakech - Tichka pass - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades
We will meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech and start our desert tour driving to Dades via the High Atlas mountains, crossing the Majestic Tizi nTichka Pass, in the middle of the High Atlas, which stands in 2260m above sea level. We continue to the famous Ksar Ait BenHaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987 and after visiting we have lunch in the local restaurant. Afterward we continue to Dades crossing the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) with famous movie studio for being the shooting site for movies as “Gladiator”, “The Mummy”. Then we will continue via Skoura palm grove and Kalaa Magouna “The Rose Capital” and before we head to Dades. we will make a stop for a woman co-operative for rose distillation. Overnight in Dades at your hotel with dinner and breakfast.
DAY 02 : Dades to Merzouga via Todra Gorge
After breakfast in your hotel we will start our desert tour to Merzouga via Todra Gorge, a very wonderful canyon with its high standing rocks 300m high. Then we continue via Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga. Lunch in the road. We pass through the town of Erfoud and just before Rissani we will see ruins of Sijilmassa, the capital of the first virtually independent Islamic principality in the south. Its foundation is lost in myth, but by the end of the 8th century it was a staging post for trans-Saharan trade. Afterwards we will head to Merzouga. Overnight at your hotel, including a breakfast.
Day 3: Explore Merzouga area and camel trek
After breakfast you will do a desert trip by 4x4 around Berber village Merzouga’s surroundings and taste the real desert life. You will visit even village Khamlia and listen to the music playing by descendant of former slaves, living there. In the afternoon you will ride to the sand dunes and spend a one night under the clear sky or under Nomadic tent in the camp in the middle of the desert, a chance for to learn to feel your real inner soul. Overnight in the desert camp in sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, there you will have dinner.
DAY 04 : Merzouga - Azrou - Ifrane - Fes
Early in the morning, we will wake you up for to watch the most beautiful sunrises in your life. This is a great opportunity to shoot some nice pictures of sand dunes Erg Chebbi before you ride camel back to the hotel where you will have breakfast and shower. Afterward we will start our driving to Fes, the cultural capital of Morocco. Along the way, before the town of Azrou, we will come to meet Barbarian atlas apes in the huge cedar forest, then passing via the cleanest city of Ifran, called for the Switzerland of Morocco due its architecture and cleanness. To Fes we arrive in the afternoon where the Berber Nomadic expedition ends.
